Biography
Rodrigo is a Postdoctoral Research Associate who joined the group in Fall 2025 to conduct research on air–sea interactions. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil, and later earned his Ph.D. in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from UCLA in 2024. His dissertation investigated the impact of stratified shear turbulence in the free atmosphere on the transport of coarse dust from the Sahara to the Americas using LES. Before coming to Notre Dame, he spent a year as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, where he studied the vorticity dynamics in wakes using adjoint methods.
